Drive@UCR, the Official UCR Car Club is pleased to present our FALL 2011 Meet series! We are being graciously hosted by Boba Tea House and Freshh Donuts at the University Shopping Center. Feel free to invite your Friends!

ALL MAKES, MODELS, AND TYPES of CARS and TRUCKS are WELCOME!

Drive@UCR does NOT support illegal street racing and promotes the legal, safe alternative.

Where: University Shopping Plaza 706 Blaine St. Riverside, CA 92507

When: 10/12/11 from 8PM+

Bi-Monthly Meet RULES!

1. Always follow all posted rules and regulations (speed limit, road cautions, etc)

2. Follow good sense driving rules and caution; road driving is NOT a competition

3. No burnouts, drifting or other stunts! (you may be ejected from meets for this type of behavior!!!)

*failure to follow these rules will result in warning/ban from attending future club events/meets

Please follow all Meet Rules when entering AND exiting the meet location.

We're going to bring out a few trash bags so please try to keep the lot clean!

Drive@UCR's Fall Meet #1

It's been a few years since Drive@UCR has been establish as an official school club by our previous President Annant Taneja, and throughout the years we've had a few special guest appearances here and there but nothing has topped this first meet. Of all the years I've been a student at UC: Riverside, I vaguely remember the first meet "unofficial" meet setup by a few close friends, specifically Brian Nguyen, which now is an Alumni. You many not recognize the name, but I'm sure you've seen the car before...

But more on that later...

Our President, Hohyung Lee (Pronounced HOE-YOUNG) really wanted to top all of the meets we've hosted before. So Hohyung and Marcus Wong (another officer) set off to spread the word. Soon enough there were more cars attending than spaces available to park, not counting the people that didn't RSVP via facebook. Long story short, this first meet of the school year was such as success that I'm looking forward to the meet growing.

Also thanks to the teams/crew/etc that came out to support our first meet!

I'll be looking for our next meet which is on October 12th, at the same location. The meet starts at 8pm and spaces fill up quickly so arrive on time/ early if you want a spot!

Thanks for also supporting the local businesses, Boba Tea House and Freshh Donuts. Without them we wouldn't have a proper lot for this meet.

There are a bunch of pictures that I wasn't able to post up here because it didn't correctly get hosted but you check them out there on my Facebook, I'll figure out what went wrong soon enough.

By the way guys, please try to keep the lot free of trash, we'll have a few trash bags out at the meet next time!

New Officers for 2011-2012!!

I am pleased to announce the results of the 2011-2012 Drive@UCR Officer Elections!  Congratulations to all the candidates for a well fought and positive campaign!  The following officers will be trained over the coming weeks to take full office after the last meet of the 2010-2011 School Year.  

President: Hohyung Lee with a 64.7% majority

Vice President: Johnson Wong with a 94.1% majority

Treasurer: Johnson Nguyen with a 58.8% majority

PR/Events Coordinator: Marcus Wong with a 70.6% majority

2011-2012 Officer Position now AVAILABLE!!!

It's that time of year!  If you want to be considered for a Drive@UCR Officer position for the 2011-2012 School year please consider the following available positions.

Available Positions:

1. President- The President shall preside over official Drive@UCR meetings and assume all other executive duties not otherwise delegated. He or she shall also coordinate the organization’s participation in campus and inter-campus events.

2. Vice President- The Vice President shall take responsibility for ensuring the timely and complete submission of all necessary documentation for club events in order to aid the President, and perform all functions of the President in the latter’s absence or upon the request of the President.

3. Treasurer- The Treasurer shall create an annual budget, receive all money and pay all debts of the club, and shall keep an exact account of all receipts and expenditures. The Treasurer shall provide a detailed report of all Drive@UCR finances at same time as general elections are held and propose a budget to be ratified..

4. Public Relations- The Public Relations Officer shall be responsible for the design and publication of flyers, posters, and assorted advertising materials in order to create a strong positive public identity for Drive@UCR.  The Public Relations Officer is also responsible for aiding the President and Vice President with the organization of any club events including finding and booking venues, equipment, catering and etc...

To apply for one of these positions applicants must:
-Be a CURRENTLY REGISTERED UC Riverside Student in good standing.
-Been an active member of Drive@UCR for 2 or more quarters.
-Have the time and skills necessary to undertake the responsibilities necessary of each office.

To apply for an Officer Position(s) applicants need to send the following using your UCR STUDENT EMAIL address:

-3 Reasons you feel you would be a good candidate for the position for which you are applying. (not longer than a paragraph total please)

VOTING IS OPEN for the 2011-2012 Drive@UCR Officer Elections !!!

It is that time, my friends, for the new leaders of our beloved club to be chosen.  I urge you to consider the future of Drive@UCR when you decide which of these capable and talented young men you wish to vote for.  The voting period will be from ~8pm tonight (Wednesday May 11th) through 11:59 Friday night (May 13th).  The new officers will be announced early next week and the transition period will continue through the end of the school year, with new officers taking full control during the last meet of the year in June.

The nominees presented to you are those who Submitted a complete application, on time, and are verified as meeting the requirements to serve as an officer in a UCR Student organization.  No application was rejected outright.  non-sensitive data from the election will be made public if it can be done without compromising the privacy of the voters.


Some things to consider:
-Only those members who are current UCR Students and Drive@UCR members may vote.
-Members  may vote only ONCE.
-Each member may only vote once for any one candidate, so if you choose person A for treasurer, you may not vote for them again for any other position.
-Your personal information and who you voted for will be kept confidential, and deleted once the new officers have been chosen.
